MEI HARI PIYA Episode

In this busy age people hardly get time to follow daily soaps on TV. But it has always been the tradition of HUM TV that it creates dramas with the main focus of grabbing the attention of viewers. Mei Hari Piya is a new soap being aired on HUM TV these days. The soap has been written by Jahanzaib Qamar with the direction of Asad Malik. Its main cast includes Munawer Saeed, Ayesha Toor, Jibran, Soniya Hussain, Anum Fayyaz, Abbas Ali Agha, Fazeela Qazi and others. The story is about a retired widower Hameed played by Munawar Saeed, who lives with his three daughters Nighat, Parisa and Taalia and a son Sami. Hameed Sahab is worried about the marriage of his eldest daughter Nighat who is getting older. Parisa is a university student and the brother is an MBA but is still jobless and looking for employment. The youngest sister Taalia is a bubbly and happy-go-lucky girl. In the first episode Parisa has been depicted as a very strong and ambitious character of the play. While her sister Taalia falls for her university mate, Sadi. The first episode showed a very convincing scene in the whole 30 minutes, where Sami goes for an interview but did not even get interviewed. In the second episode things started to become quite clear. Salman, Parisa’s cousin is interested in her but she does not pay any heed towards him. This is where she talks about following her dreams saying, “Mei jazbat ko nhi haqaiq ko ehmiat deti hu or haqeeqat ye hy k mei apni zindagi apne khwabo k mutabiq jeena chahti hu”. I found something in this episode that made me smile again and again and that is Salman’s sister Sania repeatedly said “ Meri dictionary mei”. This was like a sprinkle of humor in the serious tone of the soap. Another conversation between brother and sister was quiet funny where Salman says, “isko manana konsa mushkil hy aik ice-cream ki mar hy ye”. In this episode the most important scene is the first meeting of Zawaar and Parisa as it acts like the basis of their relationship. In this scene Zawaar and Parisa bump into each other mistakenly at a Marriage Bureau office. This gesture initiates misunderstanding between the two in the further episodes. The attraction for Parisa in Zawaar’s heart has started right from this point. He then asks Fehmida (the lady working in the Marriage Bureau) for Parisa’s Rishta for him. His mother also agrees. In the third episode Zawaar with his mother visit Parisa’s house for her Rishta. While everyone in the house thought that they were interested in Nighat. To their astonishment Zawaar’s mother asks for Parisa’s hand in marriage with Zawaar. This puts the head of the family Hameed sahib into deep pondering. Whereas Nighat convinces her father to agree on this Rishta. Finding it a right opportunity she said, “Baba is bar kismet ki dastak sun ne mei dair mat kijyega”. Zawaar is already in a relationship with Aiza who is Sadi’s sister. Here one cannot tell about the relationship between Zawaar and Aiza, whether she is his wife or girlfriend. On the other hand Sadi is using Taalia as a means to get to Parisa. In the forth episode Zawaar started wanting to talk to Parisa. He began to show such gestures which would help him make a place in Parisa’s and her family’s hearts. In this episode Parisa’s brother Sami reveals why he disagrees for Zawaar’s Rishta, as Zawaar sent him home without interviewing him for the job. Later in the episode the confusion regarding the Badla (revenge) thing pertains there between Zawaar and Parisa. Parisa misunderstood Zawaar that he wants to marry her just to take revenge. The relationship between Sadi and Aiza has also been shown in this episode as Sadi hates Aiza so much because he thinks that she is responsible for their father’s death. In the fifth episode Parisa once again refuses to talk to Salman. Her ignorant attitude towards him is hard for Salman to stand, but still he wants to marry her. Anyways having this in my mind going on already, I found out in the next scene that Zawaar wants to meet up with Parisa. But the plan fails as Sami comes in between. Zawaar then sees Parisa on a bus stop and asks her to sit in his car. She first refuses first but then sits on the car with him. Here Zawaar clarifies the “Badla wali baat” thingy to her, that he had just said that as a joke. And there is nothing mean and evil in his intentions towards her. With a smile on Parisa’s face in the next moment, one can judge that she was quite convinced with Zawaar’s talking. From episodes 1 – 5 the correct kind of relationship between Zawaar and Aiza was not revealed. Until the fifth episode it is very confusing to judge the inner sentiments of Zawaar for Parisa if they are true or not. We’d rather have to wait and see in the coming episodes. Big sister Nighat acts like Hitler being a bit strict towards the younger sisters like interrogating them all the time. On the other hand Sami also does not like Zawaar very much and is not in favor of this Rishta
