Humnasheen Episode 8
Even with Ismat Ara’s deceitful character, the mode of this episode was quiet a happy one. An array of delightful news was a pleasing change. A good news packed parcel LOL :P . After such a stressful and depressing episode last week, this installment was like a breath of fresh air. Ismat Ara was seen smiling in most of the scenes, against the expectations In this episode Mehru’s brother was desperate to get divorce for her because he thought that it was not safe for her to stay in Hassan Munir’s house. I noticed that he stood alone for this matter and no one seconded his decision not even his own wife. He thought that he would get Mehru divorced from Hassan Munir and then get her married to Shehzad. But maybe he was not thinking from the right angle.
Ismat Ara was now determined to bring Mehrunissa back despite of her brother’s opposing. Her determination was seen in a dialogue where she said, “Jab bare apas mei baat kerhe ho to bachey beech mei bolen to buri baat hoti hai”. How much older did she think she was? I mean what a mouth shutter it was :P But Mehru’s brother also replied very well. He made his presence very clear that he is the elder brother of Mehrunissa and he had all the rights to decide about his sister.
Ismat Ara is portraying a very decent side of hers this time because she needs Mehrunissa. She has changed drastically after the miscarriage. Again a mood shift from being way too much sassy to a more concerned and caring Ismat Ara. Hassan Munir noticed this change and said, “Aap badal gayin hain. Aap ka rawaya Mehrunissa ke sath pehle din se hi aisa hona chahye tha”. Ismat Ara knew herself about this transformation. She thought that the accident was necessary to occur to realize the importance of Mehrunissa. But hang on for a second here!!! Had she changed for real or was she putting on just a new face? Who knew she might turn up against Mehrunissa after her purpose is fulfilled. Even the maids in the house noticed this sweeping change in her. Yet in another scene during her monologue she admitted that all she wanted was an heir and Mehrunissa was the only source. What if she takes the children away from Mehrunissa and then let her go?
On the other side the maid Kamla is more attached to Mehrunissa and she knows what is actually going on in the house. She knew that Mehrunissa had no worth in Ismat Ara’s eyes. She had also tried to warn Mehrunissa once before. But Mehrunissa is so innocent to realize the true side of Ismat Ara.
Although showing off a caring side, Ismat Ara still does not stop taunting Mehrunissa and doesn’t let any chance go by. In a scene where Mehrunissa was asking her permission to go for Sonu’s birthday she promptly uttered in a taunting tone talking to Noori, “ye peetal ka hai or peetal ka hi rahega isko jitna bhi ragharlo ye koi soney ka nahi banjayega”. By this she was indirectly pointing out Mehrunissa about her value in the house.
It is very difficult for me sometimes to judge the real side of Ismat Ara. At times she is harsh and other times she is very caring. But one thing is for sure that she is a selfish person and whatever face she puts on has a purpose behind.
Another example of her confusing character is that when Hassan Munir inquired from her why she was not going with them on Sonu’s birthday, she replied “bachon ki bheer bhaar se humara dil ghabrata hai”. I wondered to myself if she feels uncomfortable to be in a crowd of kids, how she would manage the swarm in her own house (just an assumption) :)
As I have said in the beginning of this review that this chapter had a joyful theme, so despite of some of the stressful moments we had seen the characters of the serial in a happy tone as well. Like the news of Mehrunissa expecting, she returning to Hassan Munir’s house and then expecting the birth of twin babies. All of these were the good news in this episode and as matter of fact all belonged to Mehrunissa. In this cheery atmosphere there was a dialogue by Hassan Munir that made me smile. It was, “Humey ab ijazat dijye. Daftar jayen, kuch paisa kamayen. Do do zimedarian hain ab hum per”. :)
On the other hand Shehzad had once again missed the chance of being with Mehrunissa. Her brother had called him from abroad because he had a chance in hand in the face of Shehzad, just in case if Mehru would get divorced. Maybe Shehzad and Mehrunissa were not destined to be together. I really felt sorry for poor Shehzad. :(
I should appreciate the efforts of the entire team of Humnasheen whose hard work and struggle have created an awesome pack of entertainment. Hats off to Siraj ul Haq and team!
It would not be wrong to say that every episode of Humnasheen makes us stick in front of our TV screens for an hour trying not to miss anything because a lot of things happen in a single go. From Mehrunissa’s divorce to the news of having twins was packed in this week’s installment. The best part is the sound pace of the serial which does not let the viewers get bored. Every episode leaves us thinking what will happen next.
The other aspect about the serial that keeps us involved is the unusual story line. Because mostly wherever there is a story about two wives, we expect conspiracies and tantrums enclosed. But here Shahla Shakoor has made it a unique plot which has been beautifully screened. Credit goes to her for this amazing write.
Just can’t wait to watch the next episode
